KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor is likely to be sworn in at Istana Kinabalu as Sabah Chief Minister for a second term at 1am on Sunday (Nov 30) by Governor Tun Musa Aman, sources say.

This comes after unofficial results indicate GRS had won 30 seats.

This puts them in position to cobble together with partners Pakatan Harapan and independents the 37 seats needed to form a simple majority in the 73-seat state assembly.

Based on unofficial results at the GRS election monitoring centre at Seri Gaya here, the coalition has 30 seats.

Pakatan has officially won one seat and roping in the five independents will give them 36 seats.

Observers say they could also rope in local parties like Upko and Sabah STAR that have so far unofficially won two seats each. - THE STAR
