Court sets May 14 to determine status of representation in case involving alleged attack on Sultan Nazrin

IPOH - The Magistrate’s Court here today set May 14 to determine the status of a representation submitted by a woman seeking to have a charge of using criminal force against the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, dropped.
Magistrate Norizan Riduan fixed the date after Deputy Public Prosecutor Zariss Sofea Zainudin informed the court that the representation, submitted by Nurhaswani Afni Mohamad Zorki, 41, to the Attorney General’s Chambers on Feb 6, is still pending a decision.
The prosecution requested a new date to update the court on the outcome of the representation.
Nurhaswani Afni, represented by lawyer Sandeep Singh Jit, was charged with using criminal force against Sultan Nazrin by allegedly attempting to attack him in front of Ipoh Town Hall on Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab at about 8.20am on Aug 31, 2025, during the state-level National Day celebration.
