SHAH ALAM - Mercy Malaysia is expanding its humanitarian medical capacity for Gaza by inviting qualified specialists to join its Emergency Medical Team (EMT) roster under the World Health Organization (WHO) framework, as the organisation continues to scale up critical care deployment in conflict-affected areas.

The initiative comes after Mercy Malaysia confirmed that it has, to date, deployed 13 Specialised Care Teams to Gaza in coordination with WHO EMT system, working alongside international partners to strengthen frontline healthcare delivery.

In its latest call, the organisation said it is opening applications for medical professionals who are prepared to contribute their expertise in a structured humanitarian deployment setting.

“We are now opening a channel for medical professionals who are ready to contribute their expertise in a humanitarian setting.

If you are a specialist interested in supporting response efforts, we welcome your application to be part of our roster,” Mercy Malaysia said in its announcement.

The organisation stated that it is seeking to strengthen its Specialised Care Team with a broad range of surgical and medical disciplines, particularly those critical in emergency, trauma and complex care environments.

Humanitarian organisations have repeatedly stressed that sustained specialist capacity is critical in Gaza, where hospitals continue to operate under severe strain and complex trauma cases require highly specialised surgical and medical intervention.
