SHAH ALAM – A late-night interview invitation email from a private higher institution has sparked frustration online, after a prospective student claimed the notification was sent just hours before the scheduled session.

The issue surfaced through a viral Threads post, where a user expressed disappointment after missing an online interview allegedly scheduled for the same day the email was sent – at around 1am.

“It's sad to have missed the interview. The problem is why they sent it at 1am on the same day,” the user wrote, highlighting concerns over the short notice given.

A screenshot shared in the post shows an official email from the institution informing the applicant that they had been successfully shortlisted for an online interview session scheduled later that morning, between 9.30am and 10am via Google Meet.

The email also stated that applicants were required to be ready 10 minutes before the session and that rescheduling would not be entertained, further intensifying criticism from netizens who felt the timeline was unreasonable.

The post quickly gained traction, drawing thousands of reactions and comments from users who shared similar experiences or questioned the institution’s communication practices.

Some commenters suggested that such incidents were not surprising, pointing to what they described as ongoing management issues.

One user said, “This says a lot about their management,” while another wrote, “This alone is already a sign that the college’s management is poor – better to look elsewhere,” implying that the situation reflected deeper administrative shortcomings.

Others, however, focused on the broader issue of communication standards, stressing that important notifications such as interview invitations should be sent well in advance to allow candidates sufficient time to prepare.

At press time, there has been no official response from the institution regarding the matter.
