KUALA LUMPUR – The 2026 Umno General Assembly (PAU), which drew to a close on Saturday, might be the last before the 16th General Election (GE16).

This was announced by Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi shortly before concluding his presidential winding-up speech earlier.

"I would like to thank everyone and wish you all a safe journey home.

"God willing, this Umno General Assembly will be the last before the 16th General Election," he said.

He said democratic practice required all parties to explain the implementation status of development projects and the capabilities of their candidates.
