What began as a dispute over an allegedly unauthorised temple structure has escalated into threats, political reactions, arrests and an arson attack.

A 10-year-old boy was injured after he was hit by a pellet, believed to be fired from a neighbour’s air rifle, in an incident at Felda Seberang Tayor near here yesterday.

Investigations into the motive are ongoing, but police have not ruled out a personal or financial dispute based on initial evidence.

The police had interviewed the teacher involved, as well as several other teachers, and would record statements from other witnesses to ensure a transparent investigation.
