TANAH MERAH – The future of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) within Perikatan Nasional (PN) will be determined at an upcoming coalition meeting, said PN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.

“Whether Bersatu will be removed or remain in PN will be decided in the next meeting,” he told reporters during a press conference held in conjunction with the Reset Malaysia Convention at the Kota Harmoni Expo site in Taman Harmoni here on Saturday.

Also present were Reset Malaysia chief Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, who was expelled by Bersatu earlier this year, and Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

The statement comes amid heightened political uncertainty within the opposition bloc following Pas’ shocking decision to immediately terminate its political cooperation with Bersatu under PN.

The decision was made during a special meeting of the Pas Central Working Committee, convened to deliberate the party’s future direction as it navigates a new phase in the political landscape.

Pas president Abdul Hadi Awang said the move followed a comprehensive review of findings, assessments and current considerations on the direction of the Pas–Bersatu political partnership.

The developments signal growing tension within PN, with key decisions on the coalition’s structure and alliances now set to be finalised in what is expected to be a crucial upcoming meeting that could reshape the opposition’s political alignment ahead of the next general election.
