Hotel heiress and TV star Paris launched a metaverse business on Roblox, creates a virtual island

The excitement surrounding the virtual world continues to accelerate the latest celebrity to embrace this is hotel heiress and TV star Paris Hilton.
On New Year’s Eve, the socialite hosted a massive metaverse party on her virtual island on Roblox.
The grand party marked her first foray into the world of metaverse. Her virtual island known as Paris World is the latest venture by her company, 11:11 Media.
Paris World is filled with a digital replica of her Beverly Hills and Los Angeles home. Visitors can also ‘stroll’ a boardwalk that’s inspired by the neon carnival wedding celebration she had with her husband in Dec 2021.
They can also explore the island in a luxury sports car or Sunray yacht. Of course, small payments are required for purchasing virtual clothing or booking a ride on a jet-ski.
In a report by Reuters, Hilton worked to create aspects of her globe-trotting life for her fans.
“Not everybody get to experience that, so that’s what we’ve been working together on over the past year- giving them all my inspirations of that I want in that world,” she said.
Besides Hilton, more celebrities and brands have embraced the metaverse.
Last year, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg changed the company’s name to Meta, to reflect its growing focus on the metaverse.
Fashion brands like Tommy Hilfiger launched a line of digital ready-to-wear for Robolox avatars and Nike launched a virtual world called Nikeland where visitors can play dodgeball with friends on a pair of virtual Air Force 1 sneakers and win medals.
Rappers like Lil Nas X and Travis Scott also held concerts for virtual concertgoers last year.
