SHAH ALAM: Pejuang today laid out its aspirations for the Johor state polls, stating it will focus on fighting corruption and getting the country back on its track.

During the launch of Aspirasi Johor, he said Malay parties have lost their path and a political party that will serve the rakyat is needed.

"We (will be) a government for all races. And we need to focus on curbing corruption," he said, adding that such abuses have caused the rakyat to suffer.
Secondly, he said the new Malay party will fight to get the country back to the right path after the embarrassment caused by ex-prime minister Najib Razak.
Mahathir has previously slammed Najib for "cash is king" practices, referring to money politics and the 1MDB scandal.
The 96-year old added that his new party will also look at ways to kickstart the struggling economy.
He said the country should look at local investors "in a big way" instead of relying on foreign direct investment, as the country has enough material to export.

"We no longer have to export rubber but we can export the products made from rubber.

"If we know how to export raw earth, it could also contribute to the country," he said.
We will contest solo in Johor polls
He said even though they will be contesting solo in 42 out of the 56 Johor state seats but it could make headways if the rakyat understands the party's aspirations.
He assured rakyat that the party is capable of achieving their aspirations.
"We hope rakyat who hate corruption and old ways will support us," he said.
He encouraged those who want change to come out to vote.
