SHAH ALAM - The intention of Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to become the Prime Minister once again, leans towards personal gain and not for the sake of the people and the country, said Padang Rengas MP Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz.

Nazri described Muhyiddin's actions as desperate as he allegedly wanted to save his projects that might have been terminated by the current government.

Nazri considered Muhyiddin as an individual without any dignity because he was willing to ask for support from an individual whom he had betrayed before.

Mohamed Nazri admitted that he was very surprised to learn that Muhyiddin was willing to meet Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and ask for support to return as the Prime Minister.

"Muhyiddin has proven to be shameless because he is willing to go and ask for support from Tun Dr Mahathir whom he has betrayed before to achieve his goal of becoming the Prime Minister.

"To me, Muhyiddin's act is very abnormal because it is hard for people with dignity and integrity to do this,” he said on Sunday to Astro Awani.

On Friday, Pejuang chairman Dr Mahathir claimed that Muhyiddin had met him to get support to return as the Prime Minister.

Muhyiddin's wish to return as Prime Minister will fail as the action is purely based on personal interest and not for the sake of the people, said Nazri.

"If Muhyiddin and other opposition parties decided to unite to defeat Umno and Barisan Nasional because they think they are better, maybe God will grant it.

"But, if they want to bring Umno down, which is a powerful party due to personal interests, because they want to save the projects such as Digital Nasional Berhad, I think it will fail.

"And I was also weirded out because, during the Melaka and Johor state elections, Muhyiddin often repeated that he did not intend to be the Prime Minister but yet he went to ask for the support of other parties to be the Prime Minister again,'' he said.
