KLANG - "I am ready to give 5,000 free closed-circuit cameras (CCTVs) to be installed around the Klang.”

This was the promise made by Independent candidate for the Klang Parliament, JR Deepak Jaikishan on the steps he will take to assist the authorities in preventing crime in the area.

Deepak said preventing crime was not only an effort that should be made by the authorities especially by the police.

“They (police and authorities) have a great responsibility and Klang is a huge area.

"As a resident of Klang, if I am elected, me and the businessmen in Klang will be ready to provide for the constituency with the support of the local authorities (PBT) for the installation of 5,000 units of CCTV in Klang to prevent crime in this area," he said.

He said this while observing the early voting process at the Klang Selatan District Police Headquarters (IPD) here on Tuesday.

He said crimes should be prevented from happening by monitoring the area at all times.

"We see in big cities like Kuala Lumpur, a lot of CCTVs were installed, this is a good measure in preventing crime.

"The installation of CCTV, which is a very effective measure, will make the perpetrators think twice before committing a crime,” he said.

In the 15th General Election (GE15), the Klang parliamentary constituency will see a seven-cornered fight involving five political party candidates and two Independent candidates.

Besides Deepak, the other candidates who will be contesting were V.Ganabatirau (PH), Hedrhin Ramli (Independent), Loo Cheng Wee (Warisan) and S.Chandrasegar (PRM).

Also contesting were Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate P. Jaya Chandran and Tee Hooi Ling (BN).
