SHAH ALAM - Newly minted Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek should implement national education blueprint first instead of carrying out any education reforms, said Malaysian Association for Education President Datuk Satinah Syed Saleh.

Satinah said that Fadhlina does not need to do any reform to the education system as the reforms are in the Malaysia Education Blueprint.

“She does not have to do any reform, it is not needed. We can do transformation but there is no need to transform the whole system because we have an education blueprint,” she told Sinar Harian.

Satinah added that Fadhlina needs to be briefed on the highlights in the blueprint which expires in 2025.

She also said that if the education minister intends to reform the education system, it will be the downfall of the system.

“If she wants to start something new, it will be the downfall of all. Our system policy is already put in place, it is beautiful. The delivery of the policy is very important and to deliver what is in the book, we need to have creativity.

“I hope Fadhlina will focus on this issue as when we created the education blueprint, we saw the weakness of our education system," she added.

Malaysia Education Blueprint Plan 2013-2025 is the result of extensive research and public consultation conducted by the education ministry.

The main goal of the blueprint is to give Malaysian students a well-rounded education and help them reach their full potential.
