KOTA KINABALU - Efforts to overthrow the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government through the 'Sutera Move’ is believed to have failed following Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor’s meeting with most of GRS and Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sabah State Assembly Members on Thursday night.

It was further strengthened by the postponement of a press conference that should have been held by Parti Warisan (Warisan) President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, who claimed to have majority support from Sabah assemblymen to form a new government.

He allegedly failed to get enough support from a few assemblymen in this state.

In a post on Hajiji's official Facebook page, he shared some pictures of a meeting with friends in the state government that was also attended by Sabah PH assemblymen.

In his message as well, he hoped that in 2024 he would be able to serve the people even better.

"I had the opportunity to spend time with most of my friends in the state government while discussing efforts and plans to bring Sabah to a higher level in 2023.

"InsyaAllah, everything would be achieved through cooperation, stability, unity and agreement from all of us," he wrote on Thursday.

Seven PH Assemblymen were present including Datuk Christina Lew (Api-Api), Jannie Lasimbang (Kepayan) Datuk Fung Ming Poon (Tanjong Papat), Datuk Ewon Benedick (Kadamaian), Phoong Jin Zhe (Luyang), Tan Lee Fatt (Likas) and Peto Galim (Inanam).
