Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh has won the Best Actress in Motion Picture for Musical / Comedy at the Golden Globe Awards, becoming the first Malaysian to win the prestigious award.

Upon accepting the Ipoh born actress who was recognised for her performance in the sci-fi flick “Everything Everywhere All At Once" soaked in the priceless moment with a heartfelt speech, reflecting on her career journey.

“I remember when I first came to Hollywood, it was a dream come true until I got here.

“Because look at this face, I came here and was told you’re a minority. And I’m like no, that’s not possible.”

She then went on to say how people were fascinated that she spoke English.

“Forget about them not knowing Korea, Japan, Malaysia. I said the flight here was about 13 hours long, so I learned.”

The Ipoh born who turned 60 last year said that acting opportunities started to dwindle down as she got older, but reminded herself that she had a good run thus far, working with prominent names in Hollywood like Steven Spielberg, among others.

Then along came the best gift - Everything Everywhere All At Once, she said.

Here's the part where the audience broke into laughter - when the ceremony tried to cut her speech short with music, she swiftly told them to "shut up".

“Shut up, I can beat you up okay, that’s serious,” she said as the music began to play over her speech.
