Umno's Khairuddin confirmed as Religious Advisor to Zahid
SHAH ALAM - Umno Ulama Council executive secretary Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali has confirmed his appointment as the Religious Advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He confirmed the appointment with Sinar Daily by text.
“I received the official appointment letter as Religious Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi last Thursday and effectively commenced duty on March 20.
“The position is on a pro bono basis without financial remuneration as my contribution to the country through the Deputy Prime Minister,” he said.
His appointment as the religious advisor made Khairuddin as the latest political leader to be appointed into a government post on pro bono basis.
“I would like to thank the Deputy Prime Minister for the trust given to carry out the task.
“I also ask for everyone’s prayers for me to successfully carry out the trust as best as possible,” Khairuddin added.
Khairuddin was a former Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister in 2020 under Perikatan Nasional's administration.
He was also the former Kuala Nerus MP.
