JASIN - The Court of Appeal today granted Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi permission to use his International and Diplomatic passports to carry out official duties.

"The decision will enable me to carry out my official duties that include official visits as well as attend meetings or international conferences abroad.

"This is a very meaningful decision to me and I truly value the court’s decision, especially the three Court of Appeal judges who had agreed to listen to an appeal from my lawyers before making a decision,” he said after a ‘Santunan Kasih Ramadan’ programme at the Ar-Rahman Mosque in Kampung Pulai, Serkam, here today.

Zahid who is also the Rural and Regional Development Minister succeeded in his appeal for access to his International and Diplomatic passports to carry out his official duties.

The hearing chaired by Datuk Hanipah Farikullah granted permission for Ahmad Zahid to use his passports since his appeal had merit. - BERNAMA
