SEREMBAN - Former Jempol MP Datuk Seri Mohd Salim Mohd Sharif who was suspended from Umno, admitted that he has received an offer from Perikatan Nasional (PN) to contest in the Negeri Sembilan state election (PRN).

However, he said at the moment, he was not ready to think about the offer as he wanted to focus on his family after his wife passed away in February.

"My wife just died. So I want to take a break from thinking about politics.

"The offer was made a long time ago, but my position for now is to remain neutral," he told Sinar Harian on Saturday.

He said previously, he had been too busy with politics, and now it was time for him to take a break for a while.

He added that his heart was still strong towards Umno, even though he was upset that his membership was suspended without committing any wrongdoings.

"Allah has decided my political journey to be this way, I accept it. But others did not know how I still worked hard for the party although at that time my late wife was sick," he said.

Previously, it was reported that former Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin was also offered by the PN to contest in Negeri Sembilan.
