ALOR SETAR - Kedah Pas hopes that the legal process involving the prosecution of caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor will be carried out fairly and adhere to the principles of justice in accordance with existing legislation.

Kedah Pas Commissioner Datuk Ahmad Yahaya said the trial process or the investigation related to the case must be free from any political influence or grip.

He said Kedah Pas asked for all members and party supporters to stay calm and face the situation without being influenced by emotion to avoid provocation.

"We hope that all parties always obey the nation's laws. We must face this situation and always pray the best for him," he said here today.

Ahmad noted the party must hold to the principles that a person brought to court could not be considered guilty until proven otherwise.

"Pray for the leader that we love who is sincere and responsible towards the Kedah public to always remain in the care of Allah SWT, other than receiving justice throughout the legal process," he said.

Sanusi, who is also the PN Election Director, pleaded not guilty in two Selayang Sessions Courts on Tuesday to two charges of sedition.

The charges stemmed from a speech he gave last week in which he linked the appointment of the Selangor Menteri Besar and the formation of the unity government.
