SHAH ALAM - The 1975 who displayed a disrespectful act at a music festival held at the Sepang International Circuit on Friday, left the country on Saturday morning.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said however, the organiser of the event will be asked to take responsibility for the band's actions.

"In terms of action against the band, there is not much that can be done, but we will ask the organiser to take responsibility for their action," he said when contacted, today.

Previously, it was reported that The 1975's performance at the Good Vibes Festival 2023 was halted after its vocalist Matty Healy behaved impolitely on stage.

The singer was accused of holding a bottle of alcohol and insulting Malaysian laws related to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT).

Hussein is reported to have said that three police reports were received regarding the disrespectful manner of the group's singer.

The parties involved will be summoned to assist the investigation in accordance with Sections 509 and 504 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act.
