SHAH ALAM - The police have summoned eight witnesses in an investigation into a video on Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil's speech at the main prayer hall of the Nurul Yaqin mosque in Kampung Melayu Seri Kundang, Rawang, Selangor.

He said as a result of the investigation, the police found that there were nothing (in Fahmi's) that touched on the state polls campaign.

"The video shared on social media shows the speech of the minister (Fahmi) talking about the disrespectful acts of The 1975 band from the United Kingdom.

"The police have identified the owner of the account that spread the video and are trying to track him down," he said at a press conference on Wednesday.

Hussein said further action had been taken by police after the name and address of the account owner were obtained recently.

He stressed that actions can been taken against the account owner for spreading incitement and making a false statement.

When asked if Fahmi has given his statement to the police, he said that the minister had not yet been summoned for the purpose.
