KOTA KINABALU - Police have confirmed that they are still investigating a domestic violence case involving a woman and her husband, who holds the title of "Datuk."

Kota Kinabalu District Police deputy chief Superintendent Kalsom Idris confirmed they have received three police reports from the woman while another was a police report lodged by her husband.

“The complainant’s husband lodged another report on July 25 following the quarrel they had at his office on July 4 and the case was investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for damaging office appliances,” she said when met by reporters at the Kota Kinabalu district police headquarters today.

The police are currently in the process of completing their investigations and will then send the investigation papers to the prosecution for advice on the next course of action.

Sinar on Wednesday reported a woman known as Wong, who became a victim of domestic violence, pleaded for the police to hasten the investigations on her husband, who was a high-ranking government official at a ministry in the state.

Wong claimed to have lodged three police reports that she was beaten and attacked by her husband in a separate incident.
