SHAH ALAM - In his first act as Pas Youth chief, Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden has called for party members to gather and stage a marching protest to the United States (US) Embassy to decry the atrocities done by the Israeli military towards the Palestinians in Gaza.

“Besides the challenges in Malaysia, we are also challenged by the Zionist regime. Do you think they will stop? They won’t. They are ruthless, insane. We must rally our energy.

“Here, I call each and everyone of us to head down to Kuala Lumpur, next Friday. On Oct 27. The blood of the Palestinians is our blood too.

“We will hold a large gathering and a huge protest in front of the US embassy to show our anger against the atrocities done by the Israeli regime.

“Can all of you here promise me that you will come down together?,”Afnan said in his winding-up speech of the Pas Youth 64th Muktamar, here, last night.

Responding to his call, the delegates attending the Pas Youth’s 64th Muktamar roared in agreement.

In a press conference afterwards, Afnan also extended the invitation to the rally to the non-Muslims in Malaysia who shared similar sentiment towards the ongoing siege in Gaza.

“I implore not just the Muslims but also the non-Muslims who, like us, object to this cruelty to be part of our solidarity.

“This will be our second protest after the attacks on Gaza. We want to do it because they seem to not understand the message that we are trying to convey. So, we’ll do it again.

“As for the exact details of the protest, we will share it as soon as possible,” said the Alor Setar MP.

Meanwhile, he also needled on the governance of the administration led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, which he described as crooked.

“Right now, the administration of our country is crooked. He talks about good governance but does the opposite. He used government machinery for political campaigns, which he should not.

“We have seen him doing this multiple times. Had he truly walked the talk, we would have no problems in allowing them to govern the country till the 16th General Election,” Afnan said.
