CYBERJAYA - Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is confident that the estimated 1.7 billion Muslim boycotts of Israeli products worldwide will exert pressure on the Zionist regime.

He mentioned that even if not all Muslims boycott and only a fraction do so, it would already open Israel's eyes.

"Even if half or a quarter of them (Muslims) stop consuming popular Israeli beverages and boycott all products, I believe Israel will understand the strength within the Muslim community.

"We need to reject all Israeli products and must do our utmost to 'punish' these Israelis for their wrongdoing," he said.

He made these remarks during a special talk with Pas president and Aid4Palestine patron, Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, during the Aid4Palestine fund presentation event here today.

Also present was Aid4Palestine Chairman Dr Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi.

The former Langkawi Member of Parliament emphasised that the list of all Israeli products has been circulated to the public, primarily through social media platforms.

"I am grateful because I no longer drink coffee (from Israeli brands); I go to other shops, and it turns out that the coffee is even more delicious," he said.

Dr. Mahathir shared that he was also proud and welcomed Aid4Palestine's efforts in raising funds to be channelled to Palestine.

This assistance could help the people who are victims of Israel's injustice and oppression, as well as its allies like the United States, the United Kingdom, and other European countries.

"We may not move as forcefully or send troops to fight against Israel, but to some extent, we can help the Palestinian people by providing aid and boycotting Israeli products," he explained.
