Please don't pull a gimmick like Muhyiddin, Rafizi tells Anwar

PUTRAJAYA – PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli advises Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim not to resort to spicy gimmicks pulled by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, regardless of dull the debate sessions at a PKR annual congress may get.
He was referring to Muhyiddin’s botched resignation as Parti Pribumi Bersatu president which ultimately ended in him deciding to continue his tenure as president upon the conclusion of the party’s annual general meeting yesterday.
"I rarely make any request to Anwar but today I just want to ask him, even if the debates are dull today, please do not pull a gimmick like Muhyiddin,” said Rafizi in his winding-up speech at PKR’s 17th Annual Congress, here today.
The Economy Minister, then continued his speech, addressing the opposition tactics in capitalising on Anwar’s declining approval rating as Prime Minister, which was recently reported by pollster, Merdeka Centre.
“There are views which are backed by proper facts that we can accept but there are also views do not have any. When it comes to the latter, we only take it with a pinch of salt.
“If we recall history, when did anyone ever say that PKR and Anwar were popular? Never. From the early days of the party, people said that PKR was 'the weakest link,' " said Rafizi.
