Strategic collaboration between IIM, Rasuah Busters and Sinar Harian to combat corruption

SHAH ALAM - The Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM) has formed a strategic partnership with Rasuah Busters and Sinar Harian to strengthen their ongoing fight against corruption in a comprehensive and consistent manner.
This collaboration was established following a courtesy visit to the Karangkraf Complex, today.
IIM board member Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali said the visit aimed to discuss, exchange ideas and most importantly, implement every agenda that has been planned, is in progress, or will be pursued.
He stressed that the core of the anti-corruption agenda lies in a unified and comprehensive effort carried out collectively.
"For us, the opportunity to meet with Rasuah Busters is certainly to discuss openly the implementation of any initiatives. More importantly, the action plan must be long-term.
"Yes, there are short-term and medium-term goals, but the most important effort is the long-term one. To implement this, we need to have a starting point with a planning meeting, followed by taking action.
"At the same time, the specific objective of today’s meeting is regarding the international conference involving important institutions from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) to be held on April 29, 2025," he told Sinar.

Mustafar added that Sinar Harian will be the media partner to cover the conference.
He said the cooperation agreement with Sinar Harian was highly appreciated and certainly reflected a shared understanding and openness between both parties.
"Sinar Harian has agreed to be our media partner and I thank them. We have never lost hope in eradicating corruption, but it must start with good intentions, honesty, trust and ultimately, implementation.
"At the same time, there needs to be an element of oversight and monitoring. We hope the Southeast Asia Anti-Corruption Conference: Recalling Jakarta Statement will run smoothly," he said.
He also expressed hope that the conference would not be the last collaboration between the two parties.
"Definitely not the last time. The programme needs to be long-term, with agreements from various parties such as non-governmental organisations and others. Many more programmes to combat corruption must and need to be implemented," he said.
