There are some names in music that don’t need an introduction—and Boyz II Men is undoubtedly one of them.

Often hailed as the world’s most iconic vocal group and R&B trailblazers, the legendary trio brought their signature harmonies and timeless sound to Malaysian fans at the Boyz II Men Live in Concert on May 25, held at Megastar Arena, Kuala Lumpur.

Though now a trio—Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman, and Wanya Morris—the group’s performance reminded the packed crowd why their music has continued to touch hearts across three decades.

From the moment they took the stage at 9pm, the audience was swept away by a wave of nostalgia. Opening with the upbeat medley “Can’t Let Her Go and Don’t Stop”, the men showed they still had the magic that made them international superstars in the '90s.

Their soulful ballads still hit all the right notes—especially in iconic numbers like ”Water Runs Dry,” “Cupid”, “On Bended Knee,” and “Can You Stand the Rain”.

Voices that once melted radios in the ’90s now echoed through the arena, still rich and controlled, despite the inevitable effects of time. There were a few moments when the trio appeared slightly out of breath, but they powered through with undeniable charm and showmanship.

The setlist was a balance of classic R&B and unexpected rock surprises, including high-energy renditions of “Change”, “Go My Way,” “American Woman,” and a powerful cover of Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven.”

They even took it up a notch with “Come Together” and “Purple Rain”, paying tribute to Prince with a rendition that brought cheers to the room.

Emotions ran high during “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday,” and the crowd erupted when the group sang their chart-topping collaboration “One Sweet Day.”
