MCA exit from BN justified if 'double-loss' rule persists - Secretary-General
Any discussion or decision on cooperation with another party requires approval from the BN Supreme Council, according to the coalition’s constitution.

SHAH ALAM – Former MCA President Tan Sri Dr Chua Soi Lek’s opinion that MCA should consider leaving Barisan Nasional (BN) is reasonable if the coalition continues to enforce a rule that bars any component party from contesting a seat after losing it twice.
MCA Secretary-General, Datuk Chong Sin Woon said that if this formula is maintained, MCA's role in BN would effectively be gone and, at that point, an exit would be justified.
"It’s not that our relationship with BN is bad. Our cooperation is still close, but we have to be realistic,” he said on Saturday.
Chong added that any discussion or decision on cooperation with another party requires approval from the BN Supreme Council, according to the coalition’s constitution.
"It’s just that, until today, there has been no discussion regarding this agenda. It has only been brought up by certain parties within BN. So, this is merely an individual’s statement, not BN’s,” he said.
