Mother of three bolsters family finances through KA-inspired Ramadan venture

KUALA NERUS – A housewife is generating a steady income throughout Ramadan by commercialising viral recipes shared by popular influencer and entrepreneur Khairul Aming.
Hazwani Hamdan, 36, said the idea to sell dishes created by the content creator affectionately known as KA came after she observed the overwhelming response to his social media content.

Her venture began almost by accident when she prepared the plum sauce chicken recipe popularised by the influencer, who is famous for his signature tagline, “Hey, what’s up, guys!”
“At first, it was just for fun. I tried the plum sauce chicken recipe shared by KA because it looked simple and appetising.
“I didn’t expect that after sharing a photo on WhatsApp, so many people would ask if I was taking orders,” she said when met here recently.
Without detailed planning or extensive promotion, Hazwani began receiving orders from friends and close acquaintances.
As demand grew, she decided to offer at least two different dishes daily, all based on the influencer’s recipes.
“Every day, I choose two different dishes to provide customers with variety. They enjoy being able to sample different flavours throughout Ramadan, and the number of orders has far exceeded my expectations,” she added.
The mother of three also expressed her shock when a video of her cooking, uploaded to social media, reached one million views.

She stated that the video was initially intended only for her friends, but its impact was far-reaching as it went viral beyond her immediate social circle.
Hazwani is grateful for the unexpected success, noting that the business has significantly bolstered her family's finances ahead of the festive season.
“The income has helped with savings for Hari Raya, such as buying new clothes for the children and other necessities,” she said.
Regarding her future plans, Hazwani intends to continue the business until the end of Ramadan.
She has not ruled out expanding the venture more formally if demand remains consistent after the festive period.
