Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has announced his resignation as a Melaka state executive councillor (Exco), effective next week.

Rumours of Khairy's return to the party began circulating in October, with some reports suggesting that he had received Zahid’s "blessing" to re-enrol as a member.
