DOHA - In a dramatic display of fighting spirit, Harimau Malaya snatched a thrilling 3-3 draw against South Korea in their final Asian Cup Group E match at Al Janoub Stadium today.

The last-gasp equaliser, scored by substitute Romel Morales in the 15th minute of added time, sent shockwaves through the stadium and etched itself into tournament history.

South Korea initially seemed headed for victory, taking the lead through Jeong Woo-Yeong's header in the 21st minute.

However, Malaysia refused to bow down.

Faisal Halim equalised six minutes into the second half with a brilliant solo effort, followed by Arif Aiman converting a penalty awarded after a VAR check to put Malaysia surprisingly ahead.

The Taeguk Warriors roared back, though.

Lee Kang-in's deflected free-kick found the net in the 83rd minute, and Son Heung-min slotted home a penalty in injury time, seemingly securing the win for South Korea.

But just as despair threatened to engulf the Malaysian camp, Morales pounced on a loose ball in the box and fired a clinical finish to send the Malaysian fans into ecstatic delirium.
