SHAH ALAM - Bersatu’s members are now pointing fingers after chaos erupted mid-speech during President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s address - with one party man hinting it may have been the work of outsiders bent on sabotage.
Bersatu Associate Deputy Chief R. Sri Sanjeevan said an internal probe was now underway to uncover the truth, including suspicions that the commotion was deliberately staged by individuals with no ties to the party.
“Just because it happened while Tan Sri (Muhyiddin) was speaking, doesn’t mean it was carried out by us (Bersatu members).
“There’s a chance this was planned by outsiders or even rival parties, since everyone was allowed in, whether delegates, observers, or outsiders,” he told Sinar Harian at the Bersatu Annual General Assembly 2025 here today.
He added that the investigation will rely on video and photographic evidence to determine the cause and identify those involved.

Earlier, media reports highlighted that the Bersatu AGM at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) Shah Alam descended into chaos on Saturday night, when scuffles broke out during Muhyiddin’s policy speech.
The commotion erupted in the middle of the hall, believed to involve disgruntled party delegates.
Meanwhile, when asked about claims of a conspiracy to collect signatures to topple Muhyiddin as Bersatu president, Sri Sanjeevan dismissed the possibility of such a movement.
“Maybe there are a handful who are unhappy due to personal agendas, but the vast majority have no issues.
“In fact, all delegates present gave their support to Tan Sri, and there is no major sign of internal splits. If there are criticisms, they should be made responsibly and professionally, not by stirring up chaos,” he said.
During his policy address on Saturday, Muhyiddin reminded members that efforts to topple him as president went against the party’s constitution.
The Pagoh Member of Parliament also stressed that if such actions were allowed against the president, the same fate could just as easily befall any other party leader.
