Selangor Pas Youth supports BN’s temporary relief of Shahrul, urges political leaders to uphold morals, integrity
According to our principles, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty and returning the matter to the Syariah Court for a ruling reflects this principle.

SHAH ALAM - Selangor Pas Youth has expressed support for Barisan Nasional’s (BN) decision to temporarily relieve Youth Treasurer Datuk Shahrul Nasrun Kamarudin of his duties, while emphasising that all political leaders must uphold strong morals and integrity in both public and private life.
Speaking at a media conference at the Selangor Pas Youth Office, state Pas Youth Chief Mohamed Sukri Omar said the matter involving Shahrul should be left to the Syariah Court and other relevant authorities.

“For us in Selangor Pas Youth, it is essential that any political leader possess commendable morals and appropriate integrity. Regarding this issue (involving Shahrul), we believe the matter should be left to the Syariah Court and other relevant authorities.
“Our focus is on the court’s decision and we do not interfere in such issues. This emphasised the importance for political parties to prioritise the moral conduct of their leaders,” Sukri said.
He added that BN’s decision to temporarily relieve Shahrul of his duties was reasonable.
“We consider BN’s decision to temporarily relieve Shahrul of his duties to be reasonable. According to our principles, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty and returning the matter to the Syariah Court for a ruling reflects this principle.
“The initial action taken by BN, through the Umno Youth Chief, to suspend him temporarily until the court reaches a decision was commendable. We hope other political parties will adopt a similar approach,” he said.

The controversy surrounding Shahrul began on Oct 28, when his ex-wife, entrepreneur and influencer Datin Amyera Zainal, made allegations on Instagram claiming that Shahrul frequently hired prostitutes, subscribed to OnlyFans and rented a secret location to meet other women.
She also shared photos and screenshots purportedly supporting her claims. Shahrul responded later that night, denying the allegations and defending his fiancee, Meerween Hanees Natasha Meeat, stating that she had no connection to the scandal. He acknowledged past mistakes in his marriage but said they were valuable life lessons.
On Oct 29, Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Akmal Saleh confirmed that Shahrul would be temporarily relieved of his duties to allow him the necessary space to address his personal matters amid public attention.
“For now, Datuk Shahrul will be temporarily relieved of his duties as BN Youth Treasurer to allow him time to address his personal matters. Regarding his private affairs, we will not intervene and will give him the space he needs to resolve them,” Dr Akmal told Sinar Daily.
The scandal sparked intense debate on social media, with public scrutiny over Shahrul’s position in BN Youth, although Selangor Pas Youth emphasised that the case should follow proper legal and Syariah procedures.
