They said unity was dead? MB Perak says Ayer Kuning outcome proved them wrong
Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad also warned people against spreading slander or poison to the minds of the Ayer Kuning people.

TAPAH - Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad hailed the outcome of the Ayer Kuning by-election as a testament to the people's commitment to unity and harmony, urging all parties to refrain from spreading falsehoods and divisive narratives.
"This election result shows that the people here cherish a united society. Let no one come to Ayer Kuning to spread slander or poison the minds of the people.
"Such tactics have been decisively rejected by the residents and voters here," Saarani said in Barisan Nasional's (BN) Ayer Kuning by-election victory speech.
He extended gratitude to the campaigners who conducted their efforts with integrity and respect, emphasising that their approach resonated with the voters.

"I want to thank all the speakers who campaigned without insulting others or spreading lies but instead appealed to the people's hearts with love and sincerity.
"They asked for votes for our candidate from the unity government, which is committed to the welfare of the people of Perak and Malaysia," he said.
Saarani said voters appreciated the campaign's positive tone and constructive arguments, expressing hope for the continuation of such an approach.
"The voters understood and accepted our reasoning; they heeded our appeals. I remind our friends, let us maintain this spirit of love and unity so that all Malaysians who value unity and desire a strong, stable government can stand with us.
"Tonight, it has been proven that our candidate's campaign was highly impactful," he said.
Highlighting the strong support across demographic lines, Saarani acknowledged the extraordinary backing from young voters, as well as increased trust from Malay and Chinese voters.
"I saw exceptional support from the younger voters for our candidate. Among Malay voters, there is also a visible increase in trust and Chinese voters have shown great cooperation. If this continues, we can further strengthen this unity government," he added.
Unofficial results indicate a Barisan Nasional (BN) victory in the Ayer Kuning by-election.
As of 8pm, BN holds a lead of over 4,751 votes against Perikatan Nasional (PN), with fewer than 1,500 votes needed to secure the 50 per cent threshold.
