A loud blast heard early on Thursday morning is believed to have been caused by gunshots fired outside an entertainment outlet in Melaka Raya.

A loud banging sound initially thought to be a motorcycle exhaust turned out to be gunfire in an incident that claimed the life of a man at a fast-food restaurant here on Sunday.

The deceased, who was believed to be a bodyguard-cum-driver to another victim who was also in the car, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital.
